Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of physical fitness training on the technical skill of volley ball players. The study employed experimental research design 40 male students of volley ball players in woyra general secondary school with the age of (EG= 16±0.88, CG=16.7±0.97) had randomly divided in to two equal groups. Both the group participated in the regular fitness training. But only EG was participated in additional (2 sessions per week of 50 to 60 minutes per sessions) physical fitness training program, which compromise as strength, flexibility, and power. The training time covered 12 weeks. Both groups had taken pre and post-test and all subjects had participated in physical fitness and technical skill test: physical fitness was measured using pull-up, shoulder lift, and vertical jump test and technical skills (overhead serving, receiving setting, and spiking) were measured by norms prepared by the researcher. The data collected from the study subjects were analyzed using paired sample t-test, with 0.05 significant improvements in both physical fitness and technical skills of volleyball players in EG (P< 0.05), but no significant differences were observed in all of the variables in CG(P> o.o5). Based on this finding, the researcher concluded that physical fitness training had a positive effect on improvements of technical skills of volleyball players
