Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 12-week beetroot juice supplement in combined with aerobic exercise on Cardio Respiratory Endurance of second year sport science students of Assosa University. Twenty (20) under graduate second year sport science students, with age group between 20 – 25 years were selected by random sampling technique from the total population of 40. The selected subjects were divided into 2 groups i.e. control (10) and experimental (10) groups randomly (5 males and 5 females). The experimental group of the subjects consuming 12 weeks’ beetroot juice supplement within aerobic excises, three days per week and the duration was 45-minutes while, the control group continued with only aerobics excises for 12 weeks, Pre-test, and post tests were conducted on variables such as 1.5mile cooper test, 3 minutes step test, sit up and push up each subject was tested at the same time of day. The data collected from subjects were analyzed by SPSS version 21.0. The level of significance was p<0.05. The finding of the present study showed as 1.5 mile cooper test from pre to post test was showed significant change for experimental group -24 for male and -42 for female and little change for control group -2.27 for male and -1.22 for female, 3 minutes step test, pre to post test showed significant change -67.2 for male and -81.4 for female in experimental group and little change showed -92.2 for male and -65.4 for female in control group. In general from this study the researcher conclude that 12-weeks beetroot juice consumption in combined aerobic exercise have a positive effect on improving of Cardio Respiratory Endurance on experimental group than control group.
