Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to assess Impact of Sport Injury on Selected National
League Football Male Players’ Performance of Oromia Special Zone Surrounding
Finfine. In addition the objectives were to identify the common injury occurs during
training and game, to identify the determinant factors of injury on football players, to
identify the impact of sport injury on football players. To address the objectives,
descriptive research design was used, primary data and also a mixed research methods
(i. e. An approach of both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods) were
used to collect data from National League Football Male Players, physiotherapists and
coaches. The major findings were about a result, they were exposed to injury while they
were in training and match, 71% of the football players of the study area had faced
injuries while they were on training and match, about 86% of football player respondents
faced injuries on their leg, 81% on their knee and shoulders of the respondents was very
common. On the other hand 57% faced injuries on their hands. While injuries on the
football players’ head, neck, waist, and quadriceps very low and rarely occur. The
conclusions were that lead them for injury while they were in training and match; the
study reaches at a conclusion that football players of the study area had faced injuries
while they were on training and match. Therefore, the Oromia region and National
League Football Clubs should take into consideration to build infrastructure fields,
where football players could be saved in performing trainings as well as competitions
and Football players should select safe training and competition place, they should
take a balanced nutritional die , they should also not conduct similar training for many
times, and make proper warming up, cooling down and stretching, perform training and
competition with proper cloth.
