The purpose of the present study was to determine the ef ect of physical fitness training on the
football player skill performance of Mulo woreda. To achieve the purpose, Quasi- Experimental design was used. 40 male football players of Mulo woreda were taken
purposively as a sample study. Experimental group (n=20) performed physical fitness training
three days per week for a 3-month to squat jump, Bounding speed and Illinois agility drill. However, (n=20) control group did not performed this selected fitness training, both groups
undergone normal football training program. And both groups had taken pre and post-tests. So, all subjects participated in 3 selected football skill performance tests: figure-8 dribbling, speed dribbling and power shoot. The data were analyzed and compared with the help of
statistical procedures in which arithmetic mean, standard deviation and paired t test were
used. The level of p≤0.05 considered as significant level. The results of the study showed that
the physical fitness training for twelve weeks is more ef ective in increasing the dribbling and
shooting skills of football players of Mulo woreda.Generally, the present study concluded that
physical fitness training had a significant ef ect on football skill performance through the
selected football skill tests. Hence, physical fitness training is ef ective and beneficial for the
enhancement of players’ football skill performance. |
