dc.description.abstract |
The main objective of this study was to investigate factors that affect the motivation of
physical education in Kotu Karl secondary school which is found in Amhara regional state
North Shoa zone, Angolela and Tera woreda. This school was selected for its proximity and
the problem was observed there. Besides comprehensive sampling was used to select target
population, because population characteristic were small in numbers and four teachers were
selected using purposive sampling methods. The study employed descriptive survey type
which assists the researcher to obtain information concerning the current status of the
problems of the study area and to draw conclusions from the facts discovered. It can also be
applied to measure, analyze data, compare and interpret the findings of the study. Therefore,
both qualitative and quantitative research design were used to collect appropriate and
sufficient data for the study which were collected from target population of PE teachers,
school directors, and PTSA of Kotu Karl secondary school. At present the total population of
the study of the school is 66 students, 4 subject teacher to collect the necessary data from
student and teachers of the school. Questionnaire and observation was employed to collect
necessary data. The collected data from questionnaire were analyzed quantitatively and the
data that was gathered through openended questionsand observationwere analyzed qualitativ
ely. Moreover the result of the study were reported by using percentages through tables. The
major finding from teachers revealed that there were a lot of factors that hinder student
motivation and these factors create negative attitudes on student learning towards physical
education. The findings from the questioner revealed that the schools had inadequate teaching
learning resources for physical education it is not adding any value to their education and was
not important just like other academic subject. For these and other findings possible
recommendation are forwarded |
