Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the Impact of aerobic dance on selected motor
fitness variables of grade 11 Male Students in Fonko High School, Hadiya Zone. To conduct the
study 40 male students with age of 18-20 from Fonko high school grade 11 were selected after
completed the health status questionnaire. The samples were selected by census method and
purposive sampling method. Pre-test and post-test were conducted on motor fitness variables
such as Illinois agility run test, sit and rich test, 30m sprint and standing vertical jump and the
pre-test and post-test data were collected.. The collected data from subjects were analyzed by
using R software for Windows version 3.5.2 and the Microsoft Excel for comparison of mean
value results were carried out by paired sample t-test. The level of significance was p<0.05.The
finding of the study indicated that there is a significant change between pre-test and post-test.
The result of the study reveals the mean difference values for each variable. For instance, the
Mean Difference of pre-test and post-test for Illinois agility run test, sit and rich test, 30m sprint
and standing vertical jump was 3.42sec, -4.19cm, 0.492sec and -11.25cm respectively for study
subject. So this indicates that 12week aerobic dance exercise have a positive effect on improving
these selected motor fitness variables of grade 11 Male Students in Fonko High School, Hadiya
Zone.Therefore, different responsible bodies should take considerable actions for the
improvement of the students, the Athletics proficiencies as well as others youth.
