dc.description.abstract The study was originated to explore challenges and implementation of physical education practical session identifies best practice from the implementation, investigate the major challenges that hindered the implementation and suggest possible solutions. To realize the purpose of the study, descriptive survey research design was employed. The total populations of the study were 3 government secondary schools that are found in Shashemenne woreda. The study was carried out in two schools selected using simple random sampling techniques. The involved 2 physical education teacher selected by purposive sampling techniques, two secondary schools principal selected by purposive sampling, technique one secondary supervisor selected by purposive sampling techniques and 290 student selected by simple random sampling technique.( percentage ,frequency counts ,mean and grand mean,)were employed as statistical tools to analyze the data. Based on analysis 2(100%) of teachers, 2(100%) of principals,1(100%)supervisor and 290(100 %) of students, it was found out that, the implementation of physical education practical session in schools of Shashemenne woreda was not satisfied; best practice were not recorded properly, and giving or taking experience and best practice to/from other schools were also problematic. Additionally shortage materials like balls, cloths, sport equipment’s, etc. And shortage of training ground (problem existing sport field were found as problems. Moreover shortage budget to fulfill those materials that are very important and less attention was given to PE practice sessions from the administrative body, were also pointed out as the highest problem that hindered the implementation physical education practical session. Accordingly, it is concluded in this study that the implementation of physical education practical session in secondary schools consideration was less than the expectation and problematic. Finally, the study recommended that making school regeneration project; working cooperatively with having good and continuous communication. In addition to these, organizing experience sharing conference with other physical education teacher, conduct deep and wide research work in the area en_US
