dc.description.abstract The major purpose of this research was to assess the attitudes of students towards learning physical education:the of Angetu secondary school, HarenaBulukworeda,BaleZone,Oromia Regional states, Ethiopia The study was concluded in some selected Secondary Schools of HarenaBulukWoreda, Oromia Regional state. Sample were taken from grade 9th_ 12th the total of 1200 students. To get a sample size the researcher were used the stage sampling techniques. In the first stage the researcher were selected 300 students by using proportionate stratified sampling method..In the second stage, in order to determine the sample size the researcher were selected 300 students. In addition the researcher was take two physical education teachers and four school principals by purposive sampling techniques.Data gathered were analyzed using excel computer software and both qualitative and quantitative analytical procedures were employed. Besides, frequency counts and percentage and descriptive statements were used to analyze the items of the questionnaire. The results were presented and discussed by thematically triangulating data from the two data gathering tools. From the result of the study it was possible to conclude that the attitude of students towards learning physical education is poor. In addition, the findings of the study revealed that teachers’ encouragement for the students to learn physical education is low and there are no adequate facilities to learn physical education except textbooks. Thus, it seems important that teachers should be required to create and use variety of teaching methods which are appropriate and enable encourage most students to participate and show their abilities and this initiative should include those students who wish to do physical activity for recreation and for enjoyment as well as for those who are members of the school team. en_US
