dc.description.abstract This study was conducted to investigate the effects of regular exercise on some selected skill related physical fitness components of female students of bole Hiddasie primary school, bole sub city, Addis Ababa city administration, Ethiopia. To conduct this study the candidate used quasi-experimental research design. Simple random sampling technique were used to select subjects as well as to assign subjects for control and experimental groups, while purposive sampling were used to select the sample sex and the study place, the data were analyzed 30 female students sample was taken from a population of 109 female students by lottery sampling technique, all subjects had divided randomly into 2 equal groups (n=15) EG and (n=15) CG) was implemented. Their age range was from 14-17 years. EG who performed in 3 days/week for12 weeks regular exercise training program like as jogging, rope shipping, running and aerobic dance exercise on the other hand a CG did not perform this selected regular training unless both groups undergone normal physical education class program. Both groups had taken pre and post-testing. Pretest of two groups of 30 subjects power was measured by standing long jump test, speed was measured using 30m run test, and agility was measured Illinois agility test were recorded. After 12 weeks, posttest measurement on the same parameters was taken. The difference between the tests were analyzed statistically, with independent sample “t” test at P<0.05 to determine the difference between initial and final mean for participant. Data were analyzed by using paired samples t- test with pair wise comparison of means at 95% confidence interval for both pre and post-test. The results indicated that the mean of Illinois agility test was 20.35 and 20.47 for experimental and control group respectively at pretest. However, after 12 weeks of regular exercise the mean was 18.52 and 20.45 respectively at posttest. In the case of the 30m run test the mean was 5.20 and 5.18 for experimental and control tests respectively at pretest. However, after 12 weeks of regular exercise the mean was 4.33 and 5.17 respectively at posttest. For standing long jump the mean was 1.66 and 1.63 for experimental and control test respectively at posttest. However, after 12 weeks of regular exercise the mean was 1.97and 1.62 respectively at posttest. Regular exercise has its own advantage on improving students skill related physical fitness particularly agility, speed and power on the regular exercise EG showed a significant difference (p<0.05) on the above components compared with CG. The candidate recommended regular exercise be found to have positive effect on the improvement skill related physical fitness components regular physical exercise should be incorporated and encouraged into the physical education lessons at school en_US
