dc.description.abstract |
The major purpose of this research was to assess the factor affecting women coaches towards
sport coaching position the case of meki town administration. To this end, descriptive survey
method was employed. The total population of the study was selected by purposive sampling
techniques and there were 26 female physical education teachers,10 sport bureau workers
and 10 project coaches. The source of data was obtained by primary data. Data collected
from participant by questionnaires and interview were analyzed by using tables and
interpreted by means of both qualitative and quantitative analysis method. Some of the major
findings shows that, 76.6%.60% and 70% of PE teachers, sport bureau workers and sport
project coaches respectively argued that family restrictions, 60% of sport bureau workers and
sport project coaches were support attitudes, awareness and resources,70% and 60%project
coaches and sport bureau workers replied that lack of spouse support, lack of interest and
strong competition of men for coaching job and the self-sponsoring for coaching training
were Factors influencing women’s involvement in coaching sports in Meki administration
town. Suggested strategies to enhance women’s involvement include announcement and
educations concerning women coaching, making coaching environment free of discrimination
in coaching sports, promotion of women coaches and coaching. |
