dc.description.abstract |
The study was designed to investigate the effect of selected physical exercises on Speed, Agility and power of Bishoftu City U17 male football project trainees, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. Bishoftu town U- 17 Male Football project trainees with the age ranges of 15 and 16 years were selected for the study. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the subject. Thirty subjects were identified by the standard format of health history questionnaire. The subjects were assigned in two equal streams of 15 Experimental groups and 15 control groups by complete simple random sampling techniques. The experimental group has been participating on selected physical exercises on Speed, Agility and power exercise for12 weeks and the control group has not participated on selected physical exercises for 12 weeks. Pretest and post test results of Speed, Agility and power were taken. After pretest, 12 weeks physical exercise training was given to Bishoftu Town male Football project trainees. The data obtained from the subjects were analyzed by Statical Package of Social Science (SPSS) version 20 software. The comparison of means was estimated by paired test T-Test. The result of this study showed that the T-test, post test of Experimental group Agility Test were statistically significantly lower than Pretest of Experimental group Agility Test at T = - 5.549, p < 0.05; post test of Experimental group Vertical jump Test T-Test were statistically significantly higher than Pretest of Experimental group Vertical jump Test at T = 5.332, p < 0.05 and Posttest Experimental group 35m Run Speed Test T-Test were statistically significantly less than Pretest of Experimental group 35m Run Speed Test at T = 6.172, p < 0.05.The study concludes that 12 weeks physical exercises training on speed, Agility and Power on Football players on U-17 Male Football project trainees: The case of in Bishoftu Town, Oromia Regional state, Ethiopia. The study recommends that to Coaches so as to Selected physical exercises training in their training program |
