Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the Effects of coffee and milk mixtures on skill related performance of Haramaya town football players, Thirty (30) Haramaya town football players free from any health problems, with age group between 20 – 23 years were selected by purposive sampling technique from the total population of 60. The selected subjects were divided into 2 groups i.e. control (15) and experimental (15) groups and randomly each group consisting 15male Football players. The experimental group of the subjects underwent 12 weeks’ Coffee and milk mixture supplement and exercise, three days per week and the duration was 40-60 minutes while the control group continued with only exercise for 12 weeks, three days per week for 40-60 minutes. Pre-test, and post tests were conducted on all variables such as Power Test, 35 Meter Speed Test and Hexagonal Obstacle Test each subject was tested at the same time of day. The data collected from subjects were analyzed by SPSS version 23 and the comparison of mean value results was carried out by paired sample t-test. The level of significance was p<0.05. The finding of the present study showed Margaria-Kalamen Power Test, from pre to post test was showed significant change (Mean Difference48.9 ) in experimental group and little change (MD , 31.5) for control group, 35 Meter Speed Test pre to post test showed significant change (MD, .2 ) for experimental group and little change showed (MD,0.11) for control group and Hexagonal Obstacle Test pre to post test showed significant change(MD, -2.34) for experimental group and little change showed (MD, -1.52) for control group . So this study concluded that 12-weeks Coffee and milk mixture consumption in combined exercise have a positive effect on improving of reaction time, speed and agility of Haramaya town football players. Based on the above test result alternative hypothesis was accepted while, null hypothesis was rejected.
