Abstract:
The aim of the study was to identify factors affecting teaching physical education class
management in Feres bet preparatory school. Data was collected through questionnaire,
observation checklist and interview. A total of 249 respondents participated as the source of
data.2 principals 8 teachers 239 students from a total of 2 principals 8 teachers 3397 students,
were involved in the study by using random sampling method for students and available
sampling for principals and teachers. The study was carried out with descriptive survey
method and both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used. The quantitative data
obtained through questionnaire was analyzed and interpreted by using frequency and
percentages. The data collected were organized, analyzed, tabulated and interpreted by using
simple percentage, As far as major finding of the study are concerned majority of the
respondent stated their view that physical education teacher were no effective in employing
class room management components, such applying class room rule, motivating learners,
organizing students for various tasks, monitoring and providing feedback. Besides some major
problems that affect the implementation of class management were also found. The identified
problems were adequacy of resources and facilities, lack of comfortable playground, lack of
teacher skill to promote class management, problems of large class size. Finally, the last
section of the study deals with recommendation that is adequacy of resources and facilities,
comfortable playground, teacher skill to promote class management, problems of large class
size are problems, so principals and subject teacher may minimize it
