Abstract:
The main purpose of this study was to find the key factors affect teaching physical
education this survey type of study was conducted on three preparatory schools in NLSC
Addis abaa.180 students was selected by using random sampling method selected from
900 students and also 6 physical education teachers, 3 school principals and 3
supervisors were selected in whole available method To conduct the study, qualitative and
quantitative method were employed. The main instrument of data collection was
questioners, interview and observation. The quantitative data collected through
questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS version 21 software, and the qualitative data
collected through observation and interview were analyzed by word. Significance
differences between the respondents seeing that the result support or against the
hypotheses formulated. Hence ,the findings of the study shows that , inadequate
instructional time, shortage of teaching material, problems of large class size, lack of
facilities and equipments, shortage of budget were claimed by majority of sample school
respondents as factors that affect teaching physical education. Finally possible
recommendations were forwarded based on the major findings so as to minimize
problems encountered the implementation of teaching in physical education.
