dc.description.abstract Background: Appendicitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the vermiform appendix. It is classified as a surgical emergency and many cases require removal of the inflamed appendix either by laparotomy or laparoscopy. Untreated, mortality is high, mainly because of rupture leading to peritonitis and shock the prevalence of appendicitis in Ethiopia Few study in Ethiopia show as management outcome of acute appendicitis was associated with factors such as age, sex, delayed in diagnosis and presentation to hospital, length of hospital stay and leukocytosis. But in Jugal General Hospital very little researches on management outcome and associated factors of acute appendicitis. Therefore aim of this study is to investigate the gap. Objectives: The aim the study is to determine the Prevalence of Managementoutcome and associated risk factors of acute appendicitis in Jugal General Hospital, in Harar East Hararge Ethiopia from jan 1,2016-december,31 2017.Data will be collected from jully,15-jully 20 2018 Methods: A retrospective cross sectional will be undertaken with complete survey on all cases of acute appendicitis surgically managed at JugalGeneral Hospital from Jan 2016 to Dec2017 G.C Secondary data will be collected using structured check list by trained data collectors. The collected data will be checked for its Completeness, entered, edited, cleaned and analyzed by SPSS version 16.0. The data will be described and presented using narrative text, tables and graphs. Expected outcome :The study will identify the risk factors associated with management outcome of acute appendicitis it will also be input for the health program planners and future researchers Work Plan and Budget Plan: The study will be conducted from Jan, 2016- Dec, 2017G.C with a total budget of 6,066:00 Ethiopian birr en_US
