dc.description.abstract Introduction: Quality is rapidly becoming global issue and of concern to both the providers and the users of health care services. Good quality of care in family planning service helps individuals and couples meet their reproductive health needs safely and effectively. Thus it could help to increase family planning users and it could contribute to control morbidity and mortality rate and unplanned population growth. Poorly delivered family planning service can be lead to incorrect or discontinued contraceptive use and cause of unwanted pregnancies, infections, injuries and even death. Methodology: Institutional based cross sectional study design using both quantitative and qualitative methods was applied to study a sample of 500 family planning users by using systematic sampling method. As supplement to structured interview, an in-depth interview, logistics checklist and observation was also conducted. The collected data was entered into EpiData version 3.1 and then exported and analyzed using SPSS version 20. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used to identify factors associated with the quality of family planning service provision. Statistical significance was declared at p-value less than 0.05. Results:-Clients who got good quality of family planning service provision in public health facilities of Jigjiga town were 44.7%(40.4%-49.1%), butthe remaining 55.3% got poor quality of family planning service. Getting preferred method AOR(95%CI)= 86.2(20.8-120.6) , describing side effects during consultation AOR(95%CI)= 10.43(3.6-29.8) , privacy AOR(95%CI)= 2.9(1.3-5.3), and clear and satisfactory counseling AOR(95%CI)= 11.9(4.4-31.7) of the family planning methods were significantly associated with quality of family planning service provision. Conclusion: generally, the quality of service in the public health facilities is poor. Almost in all public health facilities, there is shortage of logistics and supplies, no IEC materials and IUCD service and also no enough training for the service providers and regular supervision and feedback from the administrative body. Recommendation:Quality should be considered as basic part of family planning services. And efforts should be done to increase the quality of family planning service provision en_US
