dc.description.abstract The main purpose of the study was to investigate the contributions of school leaders in enhancing community participation implications for student‟s academic achievement in selected Woreda of east Hararghe zone. In order to conduct the study quasi-experimental research was employed.. Therefore, action was taken to improve the approaches of contributions of school leaders in enhancing community participation by providing the training, orientation and creating awareness by one class of experimental group for all 32 teachers, 3school leaders, 18community leaders and 3PTA‟s which means a total of 56 participants. Furthermore, the perception before and after the provision of training, orientation and awareness creation was analyzed by using pairedsample t-test. At last, the study came up with the following findings: The teachers perceived that intervention brought about a change in community participation. Intervention made has developed positive attitudes of teachers towards community participation in school affairs. The factors affecting community participation were context of the town, educational level ofthe community, knowledge and skills of the school community in involving the parents in school affairs, absence of commitment from the side of the school and education leaders in the area to change the schools environment for best students learning were few once. It is recommended that, the researchers, student researchers and school teachers and leaders get the courage to engage in such like practical study with the support of better schools like that of universities and funding organizations en_US
