dc.description.abstract Every woman has the right to a positive birth experience and compassionate and respectful care from knowledgeable, skilled providers in a health institution. But women across the globe experienced disrespectful and abusive treatment during labor and childbirth in health institutions. Evidence on the status of respectful maternity care and associated factor among women during childbirth was not well studied in Ethiopia, particularly in the study area. Objective: To assess respectful Maternity care and Associated Factor among women who delivered at Bishoftu Town, public health facility East, Shewa Ethiopia. Methods: Facility-based cross-sectional study design was conducted, on 380 women delivered in Bishoftu town from July 25 to August 25, 2021. All women who deliver in Bishoftu public health facilities were included. Systematic random sampling technique pretested standardized questioner were used for data collection. Data were entered and checked with Epidata version 3.1 and was exported to SPSS version 26. Binary and multivariate logistic regressions were used to identify the association and independent predictors of respectful maternity care. Finally, a p value of less than 0.05 was declared the association Result: A total of 370(97.3%) women participated in this study. The overall magnitude of respectful maternity care was 156(42.2%) 95%CI: (37-47). Discussion during ANC (AOR)= 2.08;(95%CI 1.15,3.7), planned pregnancyAOR=3.5;(95%CI 1.19,10.27), Day time delivery AOR=1.9, (95%CI 1.13,3.28), Deliver at Health center AOR=1.89, (95%CI 1.07,3.35), presence of birth companion AOR=7.4, (95%CI (4.04,13.6), were found to be significantly associated with respectful maternity care. Conclusion: Overall magnitude of respectful maternity was low and the prevalence of disrespect and abuse was high. Health institutions & other stakeholders should give due emphasis on creating awareness of care providers on the standards and categories of RMC, and consider those identified factors for intervention en_US
