dc.description.abstract his study was undertaken in Miesso district to analyze the impact of Drought on Selected public primary schools of Miesso district. In order to achieve the objective of the study both primary and secondary data sources were gathered carefully from primary and secondary data sources. Primary data generated from three data gathering tools: questionnaire, interview, as a major data source and complemented by FGDs and field observation. Secondary data were collected using available sources of information such as published and unpublished documents. In order to assess the overall activities, researcher employed a mixed method approach in combining both qualitative and quantitative methods. Burka Misira, Fayo, Hamid Mude and Danaba Hunde Misoma primary schools were purposely selected for the current study. The selections of participants were undertaken systematic random sampling technique. Quantitative data obtained from the sample school societies was compared and contrast by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics such as, mean, standard deviation, frequency of occurrences, and percentage were employed to assess the Independent Variables such as Gender, Age, Temperature, Rain Fall, Water Storage and water scarcity those impact pupil’s learning through affecting dependent variables such as school performance, attendance, school completion rate and school dropout. From inferential statistics, chi-square was used to compare the difference between the accessibility and absence of water storage in pupils learning of the selected primary schools. Correlation and regression are used to examine relationships between different variables. The study revealed that the district was frequently affected by drought results such water scarcity, power full wind and related problems. Because of that the schools faced to poor student attendance, Low performance, High repetition rate and internal displacement of the community. en_US
