Abstract:
This study was carried out to examine the effects of rural transport on the socio-economy of the rural dwellers especially on farmers’ agricultural products in Guba koricha Wereda, Lega Arba Kebelea. Socio economic development and subsequent economic growth on Ethiopia hampered by several limiting factors such as lack of adequate road infrastructures, the topography of the land play the vital role in stimulating rural road development. This study sought to determine the effects of rural transport on the socio economy of rural dwellers in Guba Koricha Woreda, Lega Arba kebele in West Harerghe Zone. The study was guided by the following objectives: to identify the effects of rural transport on trade development in the study area, to determine the effects of rural transport on the socio economy of rural dwellers in Guba Koricha woreda, Lega Arba kebele and to indicate the effects of rural transport in creating job opportunities in the study area. The research used mixed research approach and then adopted cross sectional survey design which is descriptive research desin.. The data was gathered from the regular road users such as farmers of Guba Koricha Woreda( Lega Arba kebele). Data required for analysis was collected from the respondents and analyzed by SPSS.. This is guided by the responses collected from Guba Koicha Woreda (Lega Arba kebele}.
