pastoralist children at Kabribayah woreda in Somali region. In order to realize the objectives of
the study, four basic Questions were formulated; so, from the available five primary schools in
the Kabribayah Woreda, 40 students, 10 teachers and 5 principles were taken based on available

The results of the study indicated that in the present there was less primary education enrollment

pastoralist‟s religious attitudes towards education and circumcision, socio-economic factors such
as poverty, demand for child labor, pastoralist life style, parents‟ illiteracy and administrative/
institutional problems. There were also school related constrains. Based on the finding some
recommendations are suggested. First to ministry of education, to set up policies that support
pastoral children‟s‟ education and tackle pastoralist problems that hinder school enrollment
secondly SREB should implement a policy and strategy that consider contents and curriculum
based on pastoralist life style.
