EFFECTIVENESS OF PROJECT BASED TRAINING FOR JOB CREATION IN DIRE DAWA CITY ADMINSTRATION TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGES

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to examine the Effectiveness of Project Based Training in Dire Dawa City Administration TVET Colleges. Specifically, identify the pereptions of graduates to PBT, identifying barriers to the positive outcomes of PBT program to job creation, and suggesting some solutions to the problems in PBT approach and job creation were the objectives of the study. The study was delimited to two government TVET Colleges located in Dire Dawa. The design of the study was descriptive survey method and TVET trainers, self employed graduates and officials assigned to work on areas related to TVETs were subjects of the study. Sample subjects of the study were selected by employing Stratified random sampling and Purpusive sampling methods. In order to collect data from samples of the study Interview and Questioner were used. The data obtained were analyzed with the help of SPSS. The Mean, frequencies, percentages, and one way ANOVA is used to analyze the quantitative data collected. As was revealed by different tests, mean square, descriptive data was found there is satisfactory conditions of TVETs in equipping PBT„s contribution for job creation. Above all things, this study has remarked the presence of several significant barriers, drawbacks or challenges that urgently need answers. It can be concluded that effective training in TVETs need to consist PBT approaches in the entirety of the training process
