dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between principals' leadership styles and teachers' motivation in government secondary schools of Haramaya Woreda. Three government secondary schools, 220 teachers were the target population of the study.), and 142 teachers were selected as sample size using simple random sampling. The study used correlational research design and it followed quantitative research approach. The study used 15 leadership styles questionnaires and 15teachers' motivation questionnaires to collect data from sampled teachers. Collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis, and descriptive statistics. Results of the study indicated that there was significant relationship between principals' leadership styles and teachers' motivation in the study area. Based on the major results of the study it can be concluded that principals’ leadership styles has significant impact on teachers’ motivation. Based on the conclusion, the researcher recommended that in Haramaya Woreda government secondary schools, the principals are needed to give special attention to the leadership style they practice in their daily leadership practices as they have significant impact on teachers' motivation en_US
