dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study is to examine factors that affecting women participation in leadership public secondary school of Hadiya Zone. Research design descriptive survey as well as more focused quantitative approach. Interview question define as qualitative methods of the research implemented. The study was carried out in randomly selected five government secondary schools of the Hadiya Zone. Similarly, simple random sampling technique used to select women teachers and wereda education officers, the other respondent school leaders and supervisors sampling techniques used to purposive as the sample of the study. Accordingly, the participants of the study were 84 women teachers, 5 main school leaders‟ 5 vice school leaders, 5 supervisors and 15 wereda education officers. The data were collected through questionnaire and Interview. The findings of this study revealed that was not satisfactory in the area under the study; that means women participation in leadership position of public secondary schools Hadiya Zone was poor and satisfactory low attention of women in decision making process. Still now there is mismatch lack of encouragement to best performers of women teachers, weak linkage between women or men; lack of clear guidelines and procedures of women participation in leadership performance were found as major challenges in the implementation. Because of women teachers encounter shortage of awareness women participation in leadership positions and lack of policy implementation on practical activities. Based on the research conclusions, recommendations were provided for the concerned bodies such as schools principals, women teachers, supervisors and WEO. Women participation in leadership and employing appropriate data sources to measure women participation in leadership are suggested as important techniques to assure formulate the right policy implemented every sphere of work place in the area under the study. en_US
