The study is conducted with purpose of evaluating leadership stats and challenges faced in
implementation of Business process reengineering in case of Dr. Abdulmejid CTE found in
Jigjiga city Somali regional administration of Ethiopia .consisting 5 streams,13
departments, and 218 permanent workers . More notably effort was made to examine role
of leadership attributes linked to implementation of BPR in perception, radical
transformation, change Management and expected output of BPR. Mixed case study design
is used to reach details of leadership linked attributes. Qualitative and quantitative data's
are used. Sample was taken from 94 different level leaders using random and availability
sampling. 5 key informants and 28 student council members were selected purposefully for
interview and FGD. The tools used to gather relevant data were questionnaire, interview,
focus group discussion, and relevant document analysis. The study result revealed that
leadership role was entirely unsatisfactory with multitude of challenges to actualize
perception, radical transformation, change managing then ensure expected output of the
BPR .Status to signify attitude, radical change and change management is found
immaterial where higher leaders take the lion share. The study recommends imperative and
skilled commitment for merit based man power recruitment, paradigm shift for strategic
intervention by concerned Authorities of the region to have review of the BPR program
before launching the BSC. High turnover of skilled staffs shall be minimized where
strategic and inclusive means of deliverables and accountable structures needs to be
established. Continuous Capacity building at different level is suggested. Students, and
female staffs need to be empowered to participate in leadership role. |
