The main purpose of this study was to assess the influence of school leadership on classroom management
in secondary schools of Jigjiga city administration. The research design employed in the study was
descriptive survey. The research method was both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The sample
size was 71 teachers, 12 department heads, 5 principals, 3 supervisors and 142 students with the total of
231 participants out of 444 study populations. The sampling techniques employed were purposive,
availability and simple random sampling. The data gathering tools were questionnaire, interview, and
document analysis. Then, the information gathered through close-ended questionnaire was analyzed using
percentage and mean score while the information gathered through interview and open-ended questions
were narrated qualitatively. The findings of the study indicated that the influence of school leadership on
classroom management may affect students’ achievement... To Classroom size, shortage of resources,
teaching materials such as, laboratory and chemicals, and comfortable places were insufficient.
Furthermore, the study revealed that due to disciplinary infractions such as absenteeism and the late
comer students and disobedience of rules and regulations of the schools, teachers cannot manage time,
lesson classroom as a whole. Therefore, based on findings, it is possible to conclude that the
implementations of effective classroom management has not done in the sample schools generally,
schools of the study area were unsatisfactory in implementation of classroom management. Overcome
the challenges encountered, recommendations have been forwarded. These include preparing plan on
classroom management, I recommended, School leaders should continue to prioritize this practice as it
helps in identifying areas of improvement and providing targeted support to both teachers and students.;
