Abstract:
The aim of the study was explored to upgrade teachers use reading strategies and techniques for developing reading comprehension at bole secondary school grade 9 and 10. To achieve the main objectives, mixed research design was used with the mixed research methods. In case the target school was selected for its low achievement of English Language and use of strategies and techniques for reading comprehension and proficiency. With this issues, the researcher used five whole TEFL teachers in bole secondary school including forty respondents selected from students of grade ten and 9 out of 600 as respondents,. The students were selected through sampling technique formula proposed by liker scale 1960. Three data gathering instruments were used to collect data. These were questionnaire for students, interview for teachers and class room observation. The quantitative and qualitative data gathered through these instruments. And then, Later it proceeded, analyze and presented with descriptive statistics. The results of the study indicate that, students and teachers use reading strategies and techniques for reading comprehension and proficiency insufficiently succeed their teaching and learning objectives. Based on the findings and conclusion of study recommendations were forwarded for TEFL teachers and other responsible bodies
