Abstract:
The main purpose of this study was to compare Students’ Strategies of learning Speaking Skill
in Government and the Private School. The researcher focused mainly on students speaking
strategies. Integrative research design was employed to study the Strategies in the classroom.
To study these strategies, the researcher used systematic sampling and available sampling to
select the subjects of the study. The data were collected from teachers and students through
questionnaire and interview. This finding indicates private school students were seen using
better Students Speaking learning strategies with ample language resources help to develop
their strategies of learning speaking skill. The consequences of inappropriate use of learning
speaking skill strategies at government school has resulted in the weak performance of the
students in speaking when compared with the private. To that end, this research paper
provides recommendations that could bring about a change in the practice and use of learning
speaking skill strategies in the grade level studied so that techniques and procedures,
appropriate language resources of learning speaking could be employed.
