dc.description.abstract The purpose of the study was evaluating the writing tasks in grade 11 English textbook. To achieve the objectives of this study, mixed research design has been used. Population is the total number of students in the target grade level. For this study, the researcher selected three English teachers’ through availability sampling and fifty students by simple random sampling techniques. In order to convert adequate data, three instruments were used. They are textbook analysis, questionnaire, and interview. Among the three data gathering tools, textbook analysis was primary sources for this study. They evaluated based on Nunan’s (1989) adapted checklist for writing tasks. The data collected from the three instruments analyzed by quantitative and qualitative way. The findings revealed on inappropriateness of the objectives, lack of motivational tasks for students and teachers in the writing sections, insufficient integration of reading texts and listening lecture with writing tasks and etc. Curriculum designer take in to account that considering high, medium, and low achiever of learners before the writing tasks designed. en_US
